The Pebble Beach 2014 features a unique gathering of 20 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa covering the 1957-1961 period.

The Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa reigned supreme over motorsports between 1958 and 1961. It earned its name from the red tinted alloy used to cast its camshaft covers. Testa Rossas were made in three body styles: customer cars featured cuts behind the front wheels while the factory team cars did not, and from 1961 Ferrari adopted a more aerodynamic nose.

The 250 Testa Rossa is powered by a 2953 cm3 V12 driving the rear wheels through a 4 ratios gearbox. It is 4m long and weighs less than 800kg. Only 34 were built. Scarcity and and successful racing heritage help to explain the sky high trading values these cars trade for, several tens of millions of dollars in recent transactions. The reunion of these 20 cars hence represents a theoretical market value north of half a billion dollars, swiss francs or euros. The opportunity to admire them in their glorious diversity of liveries in such a unique setting is a rare, if not unique, opportunity.
