Volvo S60 & V60 Polestar
Switzerland will be one of 7 world markets where the Polestar versions of the Volvo V60 & S60 will be launched.
Volvo will launch in June 2014 the V60 and S60 Polestar in 7 countries: Canada, Netherland, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdown, the United States and Switzerland. Swiss car buyers are fond of all wheel drive cars, driving the highest penetration of 4×4 passenger vehicles in Europe. The recipe of a station wagon (or sedan) with ample power, sporty looks and solid all weather credentials should be positively received by the market.
The base, a Volvo S60 sedan or V60 wagon, underwent numerous modifications. The body has been strengthened to cope with 80% stiffer spring rates. Shock absobers are replaced by Öhlins elements and the wheels upgraded to 20” Polestar alloys. Brakes are also upgraded with 371 mm rotors pinched by 6 pistons Brembo calipers.
Under the hood, the T6 six-in-line receives a new TwinScroll turbocharger and upgraded intercooler, resulting into 350 hp at 5700 rpm and peak torque of 500 Nm from 2800 rpm. A stainless steel line is entrusted with the task to give the S60 & V60 Polestar an exhaust note worthy of its looks. Transmission is a six gear torque converter automatic with wheel-mounted paddles, and a four wheel drive system with a Haldex center differential. Volvo claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds and a 250 km/h top speed.
