Corvette C7 ZR1

Corvette presents the C7 ZR1, the most powerful series Corvette ever.

The new C7 ZR1 receives a new LT5 6.2L supercharger V8 de 6.2L rated at 969 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm and 755 hp at 6300 rpm (according to SAE standards). Differences with the LT4 of the Corvette Z06 revolve around the supercharger whose displacement increases by 52%, and its intercooler. The LT5 also adopts mixed fuel injection mixte, with port injection acting as t a complement to direct injection. The flow in and out the cylinder remains entrusted to a pair of ovehead valves. The ZR1 is available either with a 7 speed manual gearbox, or an 8 speed automatic. Top speed is in excess of 335 km/h.

Corvette C7 ZR1

The ZR1 is available with two aerodynamics packages. The standard “Low Wing” version maximizes top speed while delivering 70% more downforce compared to the C7 Z06. As an option and as part of the new ZTK Performance Package, a two-way adjustable “High Wing” delivers an estimated 430 kg of downforce, or 60% more than a C7 Z06 with the Z07 performance pack. The ZTK pack also includes also includes a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, and specific chassis and Magnetic Ride Control tuning for greater cornering grip. An all-new front fascia is designed to channel air for propulsion-system and drivetrain cooling, with four new radiators bringing the heat-exchanger total to 13. A special carbon-fiber “halo” hood is open in the middle to clear the LT5 engine’s supercharger/intercooler assembly.

Corvette C7 ZR1

The ZR1 is fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flat as standard or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 with the ZTK pack. Tire dimensions are 285/30ZR19 front and 335/25ZR20 rear. Wheelbase is 2710 mm for a total length of 4493 mm, 1965 mm in width and 1234 mm in height. Kerb weight is claimed at 1598 kg. A new Sebring Orange Design Package is available. It also includes orange brake calipers, orange rocker and splitter accent stripes, orange seat belts, orange interior stitching and unique, bronze aluminum interior trim. The ZR1 will be on sale from spring 2018.
