WOKING SURREY, UK - McLaren Automotive and AkzoNobel have today signed a supplier agreement, which will see AkzoNobel provide paint solutions for future McLaren road cars.

The range of cars produced by McLaren Automotive has been designed without compromise. The paint used by McLaren Automotive is an extremely important element of that process, as it must produce a perfect finish, enable customers to select striking and often bespoke colours, while keeping weight to an absolute minimum.

Through its Sikkens automotive brand, AkzoNobel has been the official supplier of paint solutions to the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (VMM) Formula 1 team since 2008. Since 2011, AkzoNobel has been a Corporate Partner of VMM, and the companies have worked together to develop new paint technology for Formula 1 and other industrial applications.

The agreement signed today will build on the successful relationship between McLaren and AkzoNobel, and will see AkzoNobel continue to offer outstanding technology-led paint solutions for the 12C, the 12C Spider, and the McLaren P1 which made its global debut at the Paris Motorshow.

Speaking at the signing of the supplier agreement, Ron Dennis CBE, Executive Chairman of McLaren Automotive said: “McLaren high-performance sports cars take the raw elements of Formula 1 principles, processes and performance and forge them into world-leading road cars. That is why I am so pleased that we have extended our successful, long-term relationship with AkzoNobel. For over four years, AkzoNobel has provided Vodafone McLaren Mercedes with a technological advantage by designing paint solutions which deliver excellence. I am confident that they will continue to offer outstanding paint solutions, to both McLaren Automotive and our customers.”

Les chiffres suisses sur 8 mois (Janvier-Août).


Les livraisons de 458 pourraient s'approcher du pic de la 430, la SLS continue à très bien se vendre, la Gallardo est indéboulonable, et la MP4-12C ? Difficile à comprendre.
Problème d'allocation entre marchés dans les livraisons ? Il est possible que la capacité limitée parte vers les US qui est un marché nettement moins patient, mais il reste difficile de comprendre pourquoi McLaren délaisserait un des plus gros marchés de supercars per capita.

La bonne nouvelle, c'est qu'on ne peut pas dire que le segment se porte mal en Suisse.

A ma grande surprise, j'ai reçu un courrier de Mc Laren pour la présentation de la MP4-12C Spider personnel pour m'inviter à l’évènement. Le Lapin me dit qu'il n'y est pour rien...
Quelqu'un d'ici à reçu également une invitation pour cette présentation?

C'est un des trucs les moins moches de Hamann, mais c'est dans le style des Art Cars de BMW ou d'une voiture engagée par Hervé Poulain au Mans.
