- Présentation à Genève 2015, commercialisation au printemps 2015.
- Trois variantes, Coupé, Spider et GT. Cette version inclura un coffre arrière donnant au modèle un look de shooting Break type Jaguar Type E.
==> Le coupé adoptera une lunette arrière concave identique à la 246 GT Dino.
==> La GT devrait être le best seller de la gamme. Très bon volume de chargement. Une gestion intelligente des flux d'air évitera une "malle arrière" chaude.
- Vitesse limitée à 300 km/h. 0 à 100 km/h en 4 sec.
- Puissance entre 450 et 470cv, V8 bi-turbo.
- Volume identique à la 12C
- Seuils latéraux de la coque carbone abaissés pour faciliter l'accès à bord. Mclaren a entendu ses clients ...

McLaren Automotive has also confirmed that its next all-new sportscar, codenamed P13, will be available before the end of 2015 and will take its range into a lower price-point - making McLaren more accessible, while retaining its commitment to excellence, performance and innovation.

P13 will be a comfortable, usable, and beautiful mid-engined two seater sportscar, built around a carbon fibre chassis. It will be available in more than one derivative and once fully on sale, McLaren Automotive’s total annual production will increase to around 4,000 units per year.

La P13 sera affichée à un tarif en concurrence avec la 911 Turbo/Audi R8 V10, et la capacité de production est dimensionnée pour 4000 voitures par an (en sus de 1400 650S).
Il ne faut donc pas s'attendre à un McLaren au tarif d'une 911 Carrera S.

Au prix d'un 911 Turbo et 4000 voitures par an ? Avec leur méga réseau de distribution, c'est la farce du jour ?

Regarde les volumes de Bentley et de Ferrari. Aucune raison qu'ils soient dans ce business pour faire moins bien.
Le réseau, c'est un peu l'oeuf et la poule.

According to a recent report, McLaren’s entry-level sports coupe could be named the 500S.

Up until now it was believed the vehicle in question will be badged as the P13, but nowWinding Road says it could wear the 500S moniker. Set to take on the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Nissan GT-R and the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT, the car will be priced at around $180,000 (136,000 EUR).

The magazine also says it is very hard to predict what the car would look like. Mclaren CEO Mike Flewitt has described it as "evolutionary", while design director Frank Stephenson was quoted saying that "Ferraris must look like Ferraris, and Porsches invariably look like Porsches, but there is no fixed formula for a McLaren".

As reported before, the 500S will likely be powered by a detuned version of the brand’s 3.8-liter V8 engine with output topping at about 500 PS (368 kW). The model will be getting some of the main features of the 650S, such as the carbon fiber central tub, the dashboard and and some of its ergonomics.

It is believed the 500S will be revealed during next year’s Geneva Motor Show with sales starting several months later. It will be offered in three different body styles – coupe, spider and the track-focused 500S GTS.

A ce que j'ai compris, elle ne sera pas dévoilée à Genève, mais plus tard au printemps. Los Angeles est une hypothèse plausible.

Ce n'est pas surprenant. Il est quand même bizarre qu'une voiture prétendument présentée à Genève n'est fait l'objet d'aucun spy shot à ce jour, bizarre.

Los Angeles a lieu en novembre, au printemps ça pourrait plutôt être un des salons chinois, mais si ce n'est pas Genève je pense plutôt à Francfort qu'en Asie.

On m'a dit printemps mais pas Genève (qui est techniquement en hiver).
Ca pourrait être New York, qui est en Avril, mais ça reste un salon mineur.

Scheduled to premiere on the world stage in the second quarter of 2015, McLaren has now confirmed that its latest model, previously referred to only by its internal codename ‘P13’, will be known as the McLaren Sports Series. It will join the range below the 650S, bringing McLaren credentials and exclusivity to the sportscar segment for the first time.

The launch campaign will plot the history over 13 chapters of true game-changing – Black Swan – moments from around the world and within McLaren’s. Over the course of the coming weeks, McLaren Automotive will be using the hashtag #BlackSwanMoments to tell stories that have truly changed and challenged people’s beliefs.

The McLaren Sports Series will be a pure McLaren, building on the credentials of the McLaren P1™ and 650S, bringing Formula 1™ technologies and know-how to a new segment for the brand. It will feature a carbon fibre chassis and mid-mounted V8 engine.

Source Autocar. Il manque encore un truc, un réseau de distribution, sans cela, nouveau modèle ou pas, les ventes décolleront difficilement.

McLaren reveals more details of its Porsche 911 rival

Each variant of the upcoming Sports Series will get its own bespoke name. Given McLaren's more recent naming conventions, for example the 650S and the later Asian market 625C, it's likely that the new Sports Series range will adopt a similar naming strategy.

A McLaren official told Autocar that no model names had been confirmed for the new cars yet, however. McLaren has, in recent history, registered the names Mergulho, Masta and Parabolica – all famous motorsports corners – but these are understood to have been for another commercial purpose.

The company has also registered Longtail, a reference to the 1997 F1 GTR which is often referred to by the same name, but this was most likely acquired to protect the company's intellectual property.

Pricing is expected to start at around £125,000 for the new Sports Series McLarens, which have been pitched as "pure driver's cars", and the company aims to build around 4000 in total each year.

Sub-650S McLaren P13 - new details

Production versions of the mid-engined P13 will use a modified version of the 650S' carbonfibre composite chassis. They're also expected to use a derivative of the company's Ricardo-built twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8, much like the other cars in the manufacturer's range.

The entry-level Sports Series model is believed to be capable of 0-62mph in around 4.0sec – about 1.0sec slower than the current 650S – and will achieve a top speed of around 185mph.

Company boss Mike Flewitt said: “The P13 will be a very engaging car to drive. It will be fun but safe.” He also told Autocar that the Sports Series will be more practical, thanks to changes to the sills of the tub which will improve access.

The Sport Series' launch campaign, dubbed 'Black Swan Moments', will cover 13 chapters of game-changing events, comprising notable occurrences in world – and the company's – history.

In 2017 it is expected that the McLaren range will be extended further with the P15, a supercar costing upwards of £300,000.
