Subaru se retire du CM des rallyes

Après Suzuki hier, c'est au tour de Subaru d'annoncer son retrait du championnat du monde des rallyes.

Il s'agit de la troisième écurie japonaise annonçant son désistement dans un championnat automobile majeur!

En WRX, 2009 sera à n'en pas douter l'année du duel Ford/Citroën.

Peut-être mais bon pour moi le rallye sans vraies 4 roues motrices c'est plus vraiment ça ....

Les groupes B c'étaient quand même autre chose à regarder que des Fiat Punto ou des 207 !!!!

Subaru, the Japanese car manufacturer, announced today that it is withdrawing from the World Rally Championship after 19 years, attributing the decision to the global economic crisis.

The move comes a day after Suzuki, another Japanese car maker, confirmed its exit from the sport.

In a statement, Subaru’s parent company Fuji Heavy Industries said: ‘Our business environment has been dramatically changed due to the quick deterioration of the global economy.

‘In order to optimise the management resources and to strengthen further the Subaru brand, FHI decided to withdraw from WRC activities at the earliest timing.’

Car manufacturers have been hit particularly hard by the worldwide credit crunch and are looking to focus on core activities.

Earlier this month, Japanese firm Honda shocked the Formula 1 paddock when it announced that it was pulling out of the multi-million dollar sport.

Subaru joined the WRC in 1989 and won the manufacturers’ title in 1995, 1996 and 1997. High-profile drivers have included world champions Carlos Sainz of Spain and Colin McRae and Richard Burns from the UK.

The team finished third in the world championship this year.

The withdrawal of Suzuki and Subaru leaves just French car maker Citroen, the current world champions, and troubled US rival Ford to compete for the manufacturers’ title in 2009.

C'est bien triste...

Subaru avait une vrai histoire en rally, et en ce qui me concerne je me suis interessé à cette marque grace aux rallyes.

Ils avaient beaucoup plus de mal depuis quelques années, mais bon...

Pas très bon pour le rally, tout ça...
Enfin en même temps, vu ce qu'il en reste....

Je suis d'accord avec vous, les S2000 sont pas passionantes.
En même temps les WRC non plus.
C'est pas très drôle à voir...

Je prefère sans commune mesure voir passer une GT3 ou une Lambo (voir sujet dedié à la Gallardo) à voir passer une WRC...
Une M3 E30 groupe A c'était quelque chose aussi :

Dans le même genre, un Monte-Cal historique est quand même plus beau à voir que l'actuel (enfin celui de l'année 2008, comme y'en aura pas en 2009...

Au final, toutes les compétitions automobiles FIA actuelles sont aseptisées, comparées à ce qui se faisait il y a 20 ans...

Ben oui, mais je t'avouerais que le spectacle actuel de la F1 me convient plutôt bien (même si je prefererais de la variété moteur). J'aime toujours autant les regarder faire....

Pour moi c'est surtout le Rally qui souffre d'un règlement mal fait...

Les epreuves ne sont plus les mêmes (plus court, on peut repartir après un abandon....).

Et puis pour les autos c'est vraiment dommage car les GT3 rally, les Aston, les Lambo, etc, existent...
Une M3 (ou une 130i, même) se serait pas dur à faire ni très cher comparativement au budget WRC....
Et puis se serait tellement beau à voir...

Mais la FIA a refusé de les considerer au niveau international...

Je ne nie pas le besoin de securité, mais on peut surement concilier tout ça.

Là je me la joue pas c'était mieux avant, je constate juste ce qui existe ou ce qu'il est possible et pas trop compliqué de faire.
