Kimi Raikkonen say he only came to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix because he believes that he’s come to an “understanding” with the Lotus team on his unpaid salary – but made it clear that he could yet not complete the season. Not for the first time Raikkonen failed to show up at the track on Thursday, leaving his arrival until the last minute amid speculation that he would boycott the race. Today he also said that he had not been paid all season.

“I came here only because hopefully we found an understanding on certain issues we’ve been having,” the Finn explained. “Hopefully it’s been fixed and we can finish the season as well as we can.”

Asked whether he would consider not racing if the issues weren’t resolved he said: “Yeah, for sure. I enjoy racing, I enjoy driving. But a big part of it is business, and when that’s not dealt with like it should we end up in an unfortunate situation. I mean you have to put the line somewhere, and if it goes over that, it’s not really my fault anymore. “Everybody has their own view, their own ideas of everything. Sometimes it’s not very nice when you hear that you are not really a team player, but you don’t have the interests of the team [at heart], and you’ve been paid zero euros the whole year. It doesn’t put you in the best place. But that’s how it goes. Hopefully as I said we’ve found an understanding on both sides on how we should deal with the situation right now and fix the issues, and try to finish as well as we can. “Like I said we all want to enjoy it and do well, and unfortunately a big part of it is business, and sometimes when it’s not fixed it can be painful, but that’s how it is.”

Raikkonen also played down the controversial instruction he received at the Indian GP. “It’s a small part of it. Those things shouldn’t happen, but unfortunately it happened. That’s not really the issue. It’s the other stuff, and obviously all the things come together in the end.”

Les RBR sont intouchables simplement, et Vettel pousse toute la course sans peine, jusqu'à agacer son team qui craint la casse. Mais ça passe facile au final.

Belle course de Hulk' et GRO, qui finissent haut et avec une belle course.

Alors, la suite et fin de la saga Kimi Raikkonen - Lotus est tombée aujourd'hui. Kimi va se faire opérer du dos jeudi prochain à Salzburg et ne participera donc pas aux deux derniers Grand Prix de la saison. La blessure daterait d'un choc lorsqu'il était chez Sauber.

N'empeche qu'on ne saura jamais exactement comment tout ça s'est dénoué.
J'imagine que la décision a été prise lors des reunions d'Abu Dabi.
Même si ça fait une peu le gars qui crache dans la soupe alors qu'il a juste une job de rêve, je comprends Kimi.
Prendre des risques en roulant, le faire avec un dos en vrac, pour finalement se faire insulter en lui demander de penser à l'équipe avant lui, alors qu'il n'est même pas payé, c'est fort.

A priori Davide Valsecchi, le 3ème pilote, devrait être choisi, mais certains suggèrent que Heikki Kovalainen serait un meilleur choix.

Hulk est hors jeu pour ces 2 GP. Il a refusé l'offre.
Donc on ne sait tjs pas qui, et il reste 2 jours.
Boullier dit qu'il hésite entre son 3ème pilote (Valsecchi), d'Ambrozio, ou trouver un gars avec plus d'expérience.
Montoya n'habite pas loin, si il veut.
(J'avais d'ailleurs lu après avoir posté sur le sujet il y a quelques mois, que ledit Montoya avait appelé Boullier après l'annonce du départ de Kimi...)

L'hypothèse Kova a été avancée par Mika Salo, qui fait un bon buzz avec ça. Sais pas si se sera suffisant.

Au niveau de l'écurie, il semble maintenant que la prise de participation Quantum ait bizarrement pas mal de plomb dans l'aile. C'etait juste histoire d'être complétement acculé, on dirait...
